Colouring Books

With Caroline’s fun comments and retelling on the left-hand pages and images to colour or fill with doodles on the right, this is a great interactive companion to Homer’s epic poem. The book includes tips for colouring, as well as doodle tutorials and prompts for writing haiku poems in order to create “haikoodles”. Caroline’s retelling shows how Homer’s epic can be both funny as well as serious, and she gives insights into the meanings of some key Greek words from the ancient text. There is even a chance to learn  the Greek alphabet by copying, colouring, and doodling. Aimed at children aged 11-17, the book can be enjoyed by anyone who loves the Greek myths and hands-on creativity.

P.S. A “haikoodle” is a doodle and a haiku on a single page.
